The SIGReg Objective as Variational Free Energy: A Theoretical Active-Inference Account of JEPA World Models
Joint-Embedding Predictive Architectures (JEPAs) are the dominant design for latent world models, yet they are usually justified by empirical performance rather than a normative principle.
